Law firm investigator Shane Daniels thought he had caught killer Adam Talino red-handed, but Talino has escaped charges on a technicality. While Shane looks for another way to bring Talino to justice before he strikes again, Talino launches a plan to ruin Shane’s life.

Meanwhile, Shane has to go to Alberta to track down recently paroled Will Evans, who doesn’t know he’s inherited a fortune from his estranged family. But Evans has a serious problem related to the deadly robbery that put him in prison, and Shane ends up right in the middle of it.

Shane’s partner, Emma Carstairs, is trying to help a double amputee who says she’s being physically abused by her husband, but Emma has doubts.
